2nd grandson

Our second grandson, Angus, was born on 2009-08-17, weighing 4 kg (8 lbs 13 oz).

The boy's name Angus \a-ngus, an-gus\ is pronounced ANG-guss. It is of Celtic origin, and its meaning is "one choice". Scottish: Anglicised form of the Gaelic name Aonghus or Aonghas. Celtic mythology: Angus Og is a god of attractive traits such as humor and wisdom. Also the name of an eighth-century Pictish king known as Onnust or Hungus. In America, the name tends to be associated with breeds of cattle such as the Black Angus. Pet form Angie is pronounced 'AN-ghee' in Scottish, representing Gaelic Angaidh.

Angus has 6 variant forms: Aengus, Angie, Anngus, Ennis, Gus and Gussie.
We like Gus, and it's Hungarian form Guszti.

Valachi Anna visiting Toronto

We hosted our friend the lovely Anna Valachi from Hungary on Apr 24-27. Anna will be speaking at the Toronto Hungarian Cultural Centre, on the occasion of the "Day of Poetry".

April 2009 update

On April 7, our grandson Dezső turned 2. Here is the party video on YouTube (no film critiques please).

We celebrated Easter at our cottage with Petra Balazs Eryn and Dezső. Pix on Picasa.

Baby shower

In anticipation of the birth of a son to Balázs and Eryn, Emese and girlfriends gathered at our house for a joyous occasion and preparinging the couple with the necessities of parenting. Balazs may need no introduction, but feast your eyes on the expectant mom, and as always, we feature Eddie and Buksi in these pictures.
